Today the editors of the dA film Alliance would like to fill you in on all of the wonderful stuff that we have done since the start of our club in November. We have submitted several issues of information for the photographic medium. We do not question the fact that the digital age is upon us we merely like to keep our ways. Every day digital photography becomes more and more advanced in size of mega pixels and definition of colors. The devantART Film photographers alliance is a project to collaborate digital and film photographers for both journalistic and fine art photography. Almost every week our editors strain to get a new issue submitted on to our main page. So with this extended News issue we would like to to join us and see a lager perspective of the photographic medium along with some of our members own submissions.
Some Things that you may want to try
Long Exposures
Long exposures with a camera can create some spectacular effects this is one easiest things to try on a camera. all you need is a camera with a slow shutter speed (or preferably a blub setting) and a tripod.
Steps
1 Get you camera at a low ISO at least 200 ISO or under. (preferable 100 iso )
2 get your camera on your tripod and set it to a low shutter speed
3 take a picture of some moving light (a busy street, you buddy with a cellphone, fairgrounds at night)
Examples:
Sandwiching Negatives
sandwiching refers to printing two or more negatives together to create a multiple image with an unusual, sometime surreal, quality.
The process for printing switching negatives is the same as printing a single negative. Put the negatives together, each emulsion side down, in a negative carrier (referring to a negative carrier in a photographic enlarger.) each emulsion side down (the dull side) in a negative carrier. Project the desired size. and focus. Make a test strip to determine the correct exposure, then expose, develop, stop and fix the print normally
sandwiched negatives are denser then a single negative, so a longer exposure time is required. they also must be dodged and burned (dodging and burning is the technique of either depriving light ,dodging, or giving more light, burning. We will give a more detailed section on this on our next issue.)for a longer time than single negatives. In addition, because one negative is one top of the other, the lens must be stopped down to a small aperture (try f11) to guarantee both negatives print with equal sharpness.[1]

Filters
Filters play an important role in photo by altering the light that reaches the film or photo paper in the same colors or tines as originally seen by the photographers. filters are also used for special purposes, such as creating a soft-focus effect to obliterate minor blemishes on the face of a portrait subject with bizarre colors or unnatural appearance, such as a multiple image. Unfortunately, many photographers- even those who carry several filters in their camera bags- are unfamiliar with filters and their effects.

DE VERE 504DS Digital Enlarger
While Looking through FreeStylephoto.biz Magazine we found something extraordinary. This photographic enlarger is something for the hybrid photographer. You can now create photographic prints from your digital photos with the DE VERE 504DS Digital Enlarger. This process is now skipping the film developing process and going directly to Printing with almost no effort and cost to the digital photographer. All that is needed is 6 items(At minimum): The Enlarger, Paper developer, Stop Bath, Fixer, Photographic paper, Trays.
The DE VERE 504DS digital enlarger is supplied ready to use, allowing you to create expose both colour and B&W prints from digital files onto standard photographic material.
The complete solution:
* 17 Megapixel LCD Panel
* Precision Enlarger Column
* Front of Baseboard Controls
* Power Suppy
* 50mm Rodenstock Lens
* PC System with DS Software
Choice of two light sources:
* DigiLite Tungsten
* LED Technology
The side effects of the hybrid is that you will have almost no grain on your prints due to the fact that your negative is made from a digital file and not an ISO graded film. Prints might look a little "plastic like" or have a "digital look"
We highly recommend this to the photographer who wants to challenge themselves with the field of photography. Or an Analog photographer who wants to try out Digital and still have the feel of processing.

Hello!
Hello everybody!
My names Aaron, and I'm a film photographer out in Northern California. I'm a student at CSU Chico where I am a senior studying Parks and Land Resource Management(I graduate in May!), which is pretty much a degree on how to heard cats and how to not get sued when one of those cats tries to pet a buffalo.
I was introduced to photography by my Dad when I was in highschool, when I dug my late Granddads medium format Graflex out of a closet and asked my Dad how it worked. My Dad gave me that camera to play around with, bought me some film and showed me how to use it. That was probably ten years ago and I still use it regularly.
Clyde Butcher's Big Cypress Gallery
On our trip to Florida last week we went to Clyde Butcher's Big Cypress Gallery. In case you don't know, Clyde Butcher, is one of America's premier black and white landscape photographers. Check out his web site. https://clydebutcher.com/ His Gallery is located in the Big Cypress National Preserve. link https://www.nps.gov/bicy/index.htm
When we arrived I went to take a picture of his sign and found a gator in the grass below the sign.
